RSM Foundation’s Story

Project Summary

We began this project with listening sessions culminating in a story framework and wireframe. We then captured and created stories from their students and parents to incorporate throughout their new website. Our final deliverable was a story-driven Squarespace website that reflected their origin and impact, with a clean, professional, and easy to navigate design.

Desire

RSM Foundation wanted to expand their reach demographically and to those with math-adjacent interests by creating a website where visitors would be inspired by their peer-to-peer mentorship and by disrupting the typical “math nerd” stereotypes.

Motivation

RSM Foundation was motivated because their current membership and volunteer pool was homogenous, and believed that reaching more audiences would help create a more vibrant and inclusive community.

Conflict

Newbies to their old site weren’t clear on what RSM Foundation’s programs were, or how/why they should get involved.

Leading By Example

Alden’s Story

“Being excited and curious to learn is not something you can really teach someone, but more something that you can uncover and help bring out by serving as an example."

— Alden White, RSM Teen Leadership Board Expansion Chair

The Satisfied Mentor

Oliver’s Story

“It’s fun working with the kids. Seeing them grow, seeing them become more adept at mathematics, seeing them grow as people. It is really satisfying."

— Oliver Sabet, former RSM Teen Leadership Board Chair

Paying It Forward

Matt’s Story

“I wanted these kids to know that they're not alone and there are a lot of other people who are experiencing the same exact problems they are. And just being there for someone like that, that helps them out.”

— Matt Croke, former RSM Infinity Squad Mentor

Inspiring The Love Of Math

Ruth’s Story

“If you can inspire that love of math through creativity in grade schoolers, it just serves them so well for later on in life...And the impact on the high school students is what excites me even more.”

— Ruth Keyes, Executive Director, RSM Foundation

“I absolutely adored working with Katie. She was warm, knowledgeable, and entirely professional from start to finish. Her streamlined and clearcut approach made it easy to work with.”

— Ruth Keyes, RSM Foundation
